Other than the compost pile, this is the most likely place to find this bear. I believe this is the same Maine black bear that we've seen in other places in this album. The small birch tree behind the bear seems to serve as a message board. Later in this site, we'll see a smaller bear sniffing at this same tree and rubbing up against it. About ten minutes later, this bear shows up. This is mating season, after all.
