It has been quite awhile since I left any apples here, so I surmise that his interest has to do with animal, or perhaps myself, that he smells along the ground. A bear was here yesterday which looks like it may possibly be a different bear than this bear than this one, so it might be that he is smelling another bear that recently passed through this clearing in the forests of Petra, Maine.
