This series of night photos were taken over a two minute period, from 1:48 to 1:49 in the morning of June 6, 2011. Two moose have left this small clearing in the wilderness of Petra, Maine just over three hours ago. Now a Maine black bear arrives.
The camera is a Primos Truth Cam 35 wildlife camera. It is mounted to the trunk of a tree facing an animal trail that crosses the clearing. Another animal trail leads to the left and right of the clearing. If you were to walk along the trail straight ahead, as the camera is facing, you would pass by my compost pile after about a ten minute walk, and a quarter mile after that you would reach the seasonal road that passes through the one hundred acre parcel known as Petra, Maine.
